Stress - is it normal?
Maybe it’s time to consider if the stress you feel is truly the “norm” AND you should just “push through”? As it really doesn’t have to.
Stress.
Nowadays it seems that pretty much everyone’s experiencing it abundantly, or at least has experienced it in the past. It’s so common that it almost seems weird to say that you’re NOT stressed out. This makes you an outlier in the current times. Or maybe crazy? Or perhaps you’re just high on something? (Yes! High on my own energy.)
Stress really means tension and constriction. We feel under pressure by our own self-imposed plans and expectations, or overwhelmed by the world around us.
Maybe it’s time to consider if the stress you feel is truly the “norm” that you should just “push through”? As it really doesn’t have to.
Feeling continuously stressed out is the most unnatural thing that we have learnt to accept as natural.
It’s funny that in most cases, stress has actually nothing to do with your real circumstances although we think it’s mostly to do with what’s happening in our lives.
The external layer of stress comes from carrying the energy of the collective, of all the people around us. We are taking in the thoughts, beliefs and expectations of others, and there are many. So our system gets overwhelmed by the sheer work of processing it all. When in fact, clearing your whole field (body + nervous system + aura, which my incredible friend Kristen works with) will most certainly clear 70-90% of feelings of stress and overwhelm, depending on your levels of sensitivity and how much are you sucking in - or enmeshing with - other people’s energy fields and emotions.
What about the rest? This is the golden treasure you can work with. The stuff that remains is your own deep-rooted ties, traumas and “frozen pictures” (the latter is also learnt from Kristen) that can become the beautiful pathways to your gifts and power.
Often the aspects of life that we struggle with the most - whether it be money, relationships or anything else - are the places we are called to become powerful leaders once we walk the path of transformation.
How? Because YOU have chosen the magical opportunity to feel the full range of emotions, explore the wide field of possibilities, and have a profound insight into playing on both / or many sides. We can only share what we’ve experienced ourselves. We are the ones who can not just transform our own lives, but create new space and lead the way for others.
For creators & founders, below are some of the keys & codes for calming your nervous system when leading a business and/or fundraising:
Clear the energies of other people, potential investors, clients, team members. You are not responsible for their opinions, beliefs or journeys.
Become very clear with YOUR why and what are your non-negotiables. Stop compromising in places and situations that are most important for you. At the same time, keep exploring and iterating. Give space for reflection EVERY DAY.
Take away the obsession with your destination and start focusing on the process at hand. Go deeper into the present as the “now moments” are building blocks for the future, and the only thing that truly matters.
Allow yourself to be supported. At the same time, be mindful about the opinions and beliefs that are veiled with the “support” label to lead you away from your own inner wisdom.
Train yourself to listen to the messages from your body. All the answers are actually here and you can play through different scenarios in your mind to feel your body’s response and make the best decisions accordingly.
Create consistency with the things that actually matter: e.g. movement, being in nature, having conversations with friends and family. Know how to nourish your body and mind.
All the shifts in your external circumstances start from inside, with seeing and transforming energy. Pull your attention within, rather than focusing on what’s happening outside.
Have fun.
